Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are appointments required?

Yes! Our goal at Frankie Jane is to help you find your wedding dress and create an unforgettable experience! For that reason, if you want to try on dresses, we do require an appointment. this way we can ensure that there will be a dedicated stylist working one-on-one with you for your full appointment!

  • How much time will I need to shop?

We reserve 90 minutes for every bride. That includes completing the order once you say yes to the dress. If you decide you need to sleep on it before making a decision then the appointment can be anywhere from an hour to the full 90 minutes.

  • Who should I bring with me to my appointment?

We allow up to four guest for our bridal appointments. We do not allow children at the store. We recommend bringing the key people that you cannot make this decision without. For some, this may mean shopping alone and for others it may be a couple of loved ones. When you find your dress, if there is someone you don’t want to miss that moment who can’t join you, we can facetime them!

  • What's the parking situation?

We are located at 568 E Park Ave Orem UT 84097. We are below the Exton apartment buildings and next to the park by the mall. Our store faces east looking at the mountains. There is a big open parking lot north of our store.

  • What if I need to reschedule?

No problem! We just require a 48-hour cancellation notice due to our limited availability. We typically have a waitlist of brides who would love to schedule an appointment with us, so if you are unable to make it to your designated appointment time, please call the shop, and we would be more than happy to help you reschedule. If canceled with less than 48hrs there will be a $50 cancellation fee as it took away from another bride being able to come in and find her dress.

  • What if I have religious garments I need to cover?

We’ve got you covered! With all our gowns being handmade the customizations are endless. For almost all our gowns we can raise the back, and a sleeve, change the neckline, etc. We do ask that for customizations you give us plenty of time. Ideally 6-8 months, with a minimum of four.

We also recommend if do have religious garments you need to cover bringing them that way you can try them on when making customizations.

  • Speaking of customizations... Do you have any examples?

We understand customizations can be a little intimidating. You can view some of our past brides here and see how spectacular they’ve turned out!

  • What should I wear to my appointment?

We recommend wearing nude Spanx to your appointment. They help smooth out the gown and make you feel the most confident. You can shop our favorite Spanx here. Don’t have Spanx? Then we recommend wearing a seamless nude thong or underwear. Most our brides decided not to wear a bra, but if you want to we’d recommend pasties or a nude strapless bra. And though you can bring heels they aren’t needed as we’ll have you stand on a six inch box when trying on dresses.

  • How much shopping should I be doing?

If you find the shop that fits your vibe, don’t worry about making multiple additional appointments. We’ve learned that sometimes going to too many shops can overwhelm you instead of help you. At Frankie Jane we’ve worked hard to carefully curate the best range of bridal styles, so you can leave knowing you shopped a variety of options!

  • When should I start shopping for my dress?

AS SOON AS YOU HAVE A RING ON YOUR FINGER LOL ;) To have the most options and the least stressful shopping experience, we recommend shopping as soon as possible! Our gowns are made to order, meaning that the dress doesn’t start getting cut and sewn until you place your deposit on the dress! Ideally, we recommend dress shopping 12-9 months in advance. That way you have plenty of time to make your decision, have the gown made and shipped, and have time for alterations. We understand that sometimes this isn’t an option so at a minimum we ask you to give us 6-4 months.

  • HELP! My wedding is in a few months, can I still get a dress?

Don’t worry babe, we’re here to help! We have quite a few dress options that can be ordered with a quicker turnaround. Depending on the designer, this rush may incur an additional fee.

We also sell select floor samples right off the rack (and often for a discount). Do keep in mind our rush options may be limited but we will do our best to help navigate all options while still keeping your budget in mind.

  • What about alterations?

We select the gown size based on your measurements, but we can pretty much guarantee that your dress will need alterations to get the best fit. Though we don’t have in-house alterations, we work closely with a handful of local seamstresses who will take the best care of you once you pick up your dress. The alterations experts will be able to give you the most accurate information on pricing and timelines. Have more questions about alterations? Read our “Let’s Talk Alterations” post here

  • When should i order my veil and accessories?

Most people are surprised to learn that veils and accessories are all made to order and are not typically sold directly off the rack. While this means that you know the piece is being made especially for you, it also means that it takes some patience for the item(s) to arrive in the shop. Standard production time for veils and accessories is between 6-12 weeks. And while we can usually accommodate a rush, it may cost a little bit more!

  • What size samples will I be able to try on?

While our collection includes styles above and below this range, the majority of our collection is size 8-12. To see our collection of styles that range from size 18-24, please check out our size-inclusive inventory boards on pinterest. Scared the gowns you are trying on what be your size?? Don’t worry, our stylists are trained to help you envision the fit by clipping, pinning, and paneling each gown as samples fit no one perfectly.

All of our designers have individual fits and every sample will fit differently. We understand that it can be difficult to envision your wedding dress when the sample that you try on doesn’t fit perfectly, but we’ve got all sorts of tricks to help you get a closer vision of what you will look like on your wedding day. We’ve got pedestals to stand on to add length, clips to close in fabric, and panels to add fabric. We work with brides of many shapes and sizes each day, and have your back through this process!
